Distinctive, hand-dyed silk scarves and accessories for the woman who prefers unique and individual fashion accessories.

Silk Scarves

Driven by color and texture, I enjoy creating  a variety of styles, incorporating Japanese shibori, water color, devoré and hanjie techniques.

My favorite process is Japanese shibori, an ancient, bound resist dyeing technique which involves folding, stitching, tying, clamping, and/or binding of the fabric and the use of multiple dye/discharge baths.

My signature scarves feature yanagi, makiage and kirameki shibori . These classic patterns originated in Imperial Japan. While the artisans of the Imperial Court ironed their fabric in preparation for making their exquisite kimonos, I have chosen to preserve the texture resulting from the shibori process for a distinctive contemporary look.

Pins and Earrings

I also create a line of pins and earrings to coordinate with my scarves.  Made of vintage kimono or other fine fabrics and embellished with beads, each of these pieces carries a  legacy from the Far East and has its own story to tell. Some of the pins incorporate coins from China and Bhutan. All of the Chinese coins

are authentic including the “Pan Liang” which was minted between 225 BC and 118 BC during the Han dynasty and the building of the GreatWall of China! The Pan Liang was the first Chinese coin  with the familiar round shape (symbolizing the sun) and the square hole (symbolizing the earth).
